About The Client

Tangula Luxury Trains (Tangula) is a company which introduces 5-star luxury train travel rides to the most scenic and culturally rich regions in China. Managed by Kempinski, Tangula's two distinctly different routes allow passengers to discover a China previously only experienced by those prepared for rugged exploration.

 
Problem
The Tangula trains consits of primarely three different wagons: dining, suite and lounge. As marketing material of the 'soon-to-be-launched' train was required, the problem was that the wagon were not up and running and therefore could not be photographed in a natural scenery.

  
Solution
Rimagine assembled a team of following experts: One experienced commercial photographer with two photography assistants, one set stylist who was responsible for prop and deco hunting, one dedicated producer and a skilled retoucher who was responsible for the complex compositions, color modifications and manipulation.

The photography took 4 shooting days, plus one pre-production day. As the environment had to look 5-star like by all means, both the photographer and lead retoucher had to have a meticulous attention to detail in regards to color (wood, carpets, textiles), angles, setup and compositions.

Each background, for example a scenic view of the Tibetanian grass lands, had to be digitally composed into the existing interior shot of each wagon. This was a big challenge to Rimagine's retouching team. In approximately 8 full working days, 11 images were digitally enhanced, retouched and composed.
